Ancient and impressive bonsai pot, enamelled in green (oribe), drum-shaped of impressive size. Design by the renowned Koyo house, from Tokoname. Stamp and signature: Koyo Aiba Koichirou, with the ginkgo leaf variant, a stamp that indicates a line of his first pots made with more careful designs and glazes.

Handmade flowerpot by Aiba Kouichirou, born in 1944. The son of a potter whose family had specialized in plant pots and tableware, the kiln was founded by his grandfather. In the early 1970s Aiba Kouichirou built a new kiln, changed the name to Koyo Toen, and began making bonsai pots. This kiln was known as “The Kouyou Pottery Garden” based in Tokoname. Aiba Kouichirou passed away and the oven is currently run by his wife and son.
